Realising the importance of housing as primary need the employees of the NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED, formed a Co-operative Group Housing Society called “ROYAL CO-OPERATIVE GROUP HOUSING SOCIETY”. The endeavour of the members was greatly assisted and supported by the members and the management of National Insurance Company Ltd., and General Insurance Corporation Limited. The Royal Co-operative Group Housing Society Limited was formed in 1979 and registered with Delhi Development Authority for allotment of land and construction of flats. The land was ultimately made available to the Society at Rohini, Delhi in March, 1983. M/s. C.P.Kukreja & Associates Pvt. Ltd. were appointed as Consultants to design the Housing Complex. The Executive Members and Architects worked intensively to finalise the design of the flats. The results of this joint effort produced a layout which consisted of large expenses on green areas and parks. The buildings consisted of 7 four storeyed blocks for A & B categories and 1 eight storeyed block for C category. Other facilities like Master T.V. Antenna, conduit telephone wiring, deep tube well were also part of the plan.
Download Society RegistrationRoyal Co-operative Group Housing Society Limited was allotted a plot of land admeasuring 4.613 acres of land & 277 dwellings units of different categories were proposed.At that time the plot was from one side surrounded by Group Housing Society Plot No.53 and wide roads by the other sides. Our plot of land lied in the area being developed by DDA and the necessary bulk services like electricity, water supply and sewer mains were to be provided.
This massive project was inaugurated by Mr. M.R.Dasgupta , CMD, National Insurance Company Limited. However, due to various reasons the project was delayed by 3-4 years and was ultimately completed in 1991 and occupancy started in 1992.
The name “MAYUR” represented the logo of National Insurance Company Limited, the PEACOCK. ‘MAYYUR” was the dream of all 277 families who put in their efforts to help in forming, building this Society. It has been a cosy nest for all with beautiful green areas, open spaces. We now have the biggest park of Delhi named SWARAN JAYANTI PARK or JAPANESE PARK facing our Society. Surrounded by other Co-operative Societies, we can boast of having parks, malls, schools, markets and metro within reachable distance.
The Society Members have worked relentlessly for maintaining this dream society in every possible way and we are really proud to be the Owners/Residents of this beautiful residential complex.Results can be accomplished but you should have the vision to dream them.
After a gap of 8 years i.e. form2015 on wards when Administrator was appointed in Society, Managing committee election were held on 27th August 2023.The following candidates won the election and were subsequently qppointed as office bearers and executive members:

The MC members have given great emphasis on the security beautification of the society.
A 5 foot high boundary wall was reconstructed with sharp wires on top of in this has resulted in safety & security of all the residents the boundary wall has been beautifully painted.
Mayur Apartments has three beautiful parks which have been repainted, flower pots & two benches arranged, the resident the themself have been very much enthusiastic and many outdoor games have been provided for the children.
With the advent of new MC special steps steps have been taken to start the pending retrofitting work of c block which is still going on the old lift of c block has been repaired and one new lift is being installed.
Water tanks of B block which were in a dilapidated condition have also been repaired. Due to GRAP restriction the work is yet to be finished
New Guard room has been constructed at Gate No 3 and hew gate and guard room n being constructed being at Gate NO 2.
A new garbage house has been constructed and special parking are a has been built.
Many hardships have also been faced by the MC water shortage, water pump issue etc but all the difficulties have been overcome with the sincerity and hardworking spirit of the committee.
The committee has been very much active on taking up the social causes and issuees of the society.
In 15th August 2024 a senior citizen was inaugurated by Shri Vijendra Guple, MLA ROHINI ward. It is very relaxing place for th Sr. residents and all sort of reading material is available along with various indoor games like carom , chesss and cardo.
Diwlai mela is being regularly organized by the committee from last 2 years which brings out the joy and happiness of the residents as the festival indicates.
Besides Diwali other festival like Holi, Janamasthami are also celebrated with proup and vigour with active particition of all the residents.
This January a free health check up camp was also organized for the senior residents of the society , which was very well appreciated by all.
